

Five days into 2009 and Spring is almost upon us. Here are some of my favorite images of the halter. Borrowed from evening wear, halters became fashionable in the 1930s and every era since has put their own spin on the dress that wraps the neck . . . .




Seems like nowadays we're borrowing from no particular era when it comes to halter dressing; instead we're celebrating them all. So over the strapless? Well, good news then. Any strapless gown can be turned into a halter by adding a neck piece for support like the one above.

The above halter echoes 1970s fashion. Looks like something Bob Mackie might have designed for Cher.
